Explosion Suit: Ghent gas station explosion

November 28th, 2007 · No Comments

A propane tank exploded at a Raleigh gas station causing the gas station to be destroyed and several employee injuries. Two of the gas station employees, Patricia Mullins and Leta Farley, are suing their employer for their injuries. They are among many others suing the company.

Mullins was an employee of the Flat Top Little General Store in Ghent and was hard at work when the explosion occured. Another employee, Farley, was employeed by the Godfather’s Pizza in the store.

The employees are claiming that five companies, including Little General and Godfather’s Pizza, failed to provide a safe working environment and did not properly maintain the propane tank. The careless transfer of the propane tanks is the suspected cause of the explosion.

The employees suffered injuries to their arms, heads, and leges. They have over $300,000 in medical bills and have lost wages during their recovery time.
