U.S. Refineries Not Able To Keep Up

The blast at the British Petroleum refinery rocked the Texas City area sending plumes of black smoke high into the air and shattering windows of nearby homes and buildings. The explosion left more than a dozen dead and more than 100 injured.

Steelworkers Push for Workers’ Comp Case to be Reheard

The United Steelworkers union (USW) urges a rehearing of the Entergy v. Summers case. The Texas Supreme Court’s decision in Entergy v. Summers to limit contract workers to workers’ compensation benefits when they are injured at a plant they are visiting puts the burden of recovery on the workers and protects corporate wrongdoers.

Fatal Metal Plant Explosion in Atlanta

The explosion last month in Atlanta, Georgia, has claimed the life os one of the seven injured in the event. Kenneth Walton was a worker at G&S Metal Consultants when the explosion occured. He suffered severe burns and was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for recovery, but did not survive the ordeal.
