A fire at Frontier Oil’s Cheyenne, Wyoming, refinery Saturday night injured two employees and temporarily shut down part of the plant, the company announced Monday.
One worker sprained an ankle, and the other suffered smoke inhalation while fighting the fire, company spokesman Doug Aron said.
The fire started in the delayed coking unit, or coker, which converts asphalt into other products. The coker will be closed for less than 30 days, the company said in a news release.
A fire in the coker in 2004 caused two large explosions and shut down that part of the plant for a month.
Frontier Refinery produces oil, diesel, asphalt and other products and markets them around the region. The plant employs around 275 workers.
