An explosion Monday at an oil refinery near Big Spring, TX, sent residents scurrying for cover and 4 workers injured. Alon USA, the owner of the refinery, said all workers had been accounted for, although one employee had to be sent to a burn unit for treatment. A spokesman for Alon said that the fire at the refinery was under control, but said the company did not know what had caused the explosion.
The blast shut down Interstate 20 and caused cancellation of all classes in the Big Spring School District schools.
