Early this morning, an oil refinery in Davis County exploded with a bang and a large fire afterward. Sources say that they heard what sounded to be a popping noise followed by several crashes sounding something like thunder. Close by residents stepped outside to see what was going on and all they could see in the direction of the refinery was black smoke surrounding the area. They immediately called the police to report the incident and to get a fire truck out there to take care of the oil immediately.
Police said that a pressure safety line had ruptured which caused a huge explosion in the refinery. There were no major injuries in the explosion. One man had a minor injury from being startled and falling off of his truck as the explosion happened. None of the roads were closed of except ones closer to the factor just for a short time while the crews contained the fire.
