3 Killed in Florida Gas Leak

May 20th, 2008 · No Comments

In Port Everglades, Florida, three employees were found dead early yesterday morning. Officials have said that there was some sort of a gas leak from a tank on the cargo ship that the three men were unloading cargo from.

When paramedics got to the scene, they tried to revive them but were unsuccessful. The police have released a statement that says the gas that was released was Argon. Argon is not a necessarily toxic gas, but when put into the air in a confined space, it can begin to suffocate anyone in close radius to the gas. This gas is colorless and odorless gas and can affect someone before they are even aware of what has happened.

The city HAZMAT team was called in to clean up the area so that the company can get back to daily business. The crew worked through the morning to clean up the accident and everything was finished by about noon.
