Explosion Rocks Refinery in Indiana

May 29th, 2008 · No Comments

On Friday, May 16, 2008, a cable manufacturing plant in Valparaiso, Indiana, was rocked by a series of explosions.  The explosion took place at the plant of Prairie Cable.  One worker was injured.  He was taken to Porter Valparaiso Hospital campus for treatment.  His injuries were serious and included facial burns.  He is in a stable condition.

An outside electrical contractor was working on the main breaker/electrical distributing centre in the company’s building at Evans Avenue and Silhavy Road, when the explosions took place.  The worker was installing new power runs.  There was a small explosion followed by two very large explosions.  Flames flashed during the explosions, but fortunately it did not start any fire.

The cause of the explosions was not known and is under investigation.  To learn more, contact the Texas Explosion Lawyers at Williams Kherkher at 1.800.220.9341.
