Last December, a T2 Laboratory was involved in an explosion which eventually led to the death of four people later while in the hospital. Since the explosion, OSHA has come out to do inspections on many of the T2 Laboratories because of the negative views of the explosion that happened.
The laboratory in Jacksonville just recently had an inspection where the company’s lab had 5 different safety violations. OSHA, or the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, says that they are currently reviewing all the violations with the company to see what is going to be done about the violations and to determine how much all the fines for the company are going to be.
OSHA has said that the company has somewhere around 15 days to either contest the citations and the fines; otherwise they will be forced to follow through with all the required federal regulations.
